The Oslo Philharmonic is a symphony orchestra of international renown. It was formed in 1919 and today has 108 musicians in its ranks. The Oslo Philharmonic performs more than 130 concerts annually with a full orchestra and smaller chamber groups in Oslo, Europe, and the rest of the world. The orchestra plays music from a wide repertoire, often with internationally renowned soloists and conductors, and regularly goes on tours both domestically and abroad. Klaus Mäkelä is the orchestra's chief conductor.
