Rod McAllister was a founding partner of King McAllister (now ShedKM) Architects in Liverpool in 1988, principal of McAllister Co, London; lecturer at the Liverpool School of Architecture and visiting professor at La Sapienza University, Rome. He was a partner and design director of Sheppard Robson International from 2003-14 and Strategic Design Lead at Pick Everard from 2017.

His projects include a masterplan of the University of Perpignan, Liverpool School of Architecture New Studios and Galleries, various structures in Battersea Park, the Active Learning Lab at the University of Liverpool's Department of Engineering, London Business School and Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital in Johannesburg.

Rod has produced, directed and presented numerous documentary films for the RIBA, AUDE, HEDQF, LSE, Osbourne and Garden Court Chambers.

Recently, he founded DejaBase.com, an online travel and culture database and app, of which he is editor.
